PTSD Conference Memorial University
At the beginning of this month, I returned to my old stomping grounds at Memorial University in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador. The university held its very first PTSD Multidisciplinary Conference. It was well attended and I was fortunate to take in many presentations, round-table discussions, and talks related to PTSD causes, consequences, and responses.
The research that is currently being done in the field of trauma is astounding. I also had the opportunity to present a talk of my own with a good colleague (Dr. Sarah Chaulk). We discussed evidence based treatments for PTSD and how to access those treatments in the public and private sectors. It was also lovely to catch up with my grad school colleagues, hear about new adventures (both personal and professional), and reminisce about old times.
