The general purpose of this type of assessment is to gain a better understanding of an individual’s emotional functioning, identify relevant diagnoses if present, and provide recommendations for treatment, if warranted.
Psychological/diagnostic Assessment
Psycho-educational Assessment
A psycho-educational assessment is a detailed assessment of an individual’s cognitive and academic strengths and weaknesses, as well as psychological factors that may interfere with learning.
Who could benefit?

University/college students and adults who are struggling with aspects of learning.
Areas explored include verbal and non-verbal reasoning, memory, processing, attention/concentration, and academic skills (e.g., math, reading, and writing).
The goal is to identify the basis of learning challenges and provide recommendations for learning accommodations, as required.
Psycho-vocational/Vocational Assessment
A psycho-vocational assessment also assesses an individual’s cognitive and academic strengths and weaknesses, and psychological factors that may interfere with learning. Additionally, it examines an individual’s career interests.
Who could benefit?

Persons who are unable to re-enter their previous workplace or occupation due to restrictions imposed by an injury.

Adults pursuing post-secondary education who are seeking advice regarding the appropriate career path.
The goal is to identify vocational options/alternatives that are consistent with an individual’s aptitudes, interests, and skills.
