Dr. Keating conducts psychological assessment for adults who are struggling with a wide range of mental health issues.

 

Dr. Keating conducts psychological assessment for the following:

 

  • VAC Disability Benefit/Award

  • Personal Injury

  • Independent Medical Evaluations

  • Return-to-Work

 

The general purpose of this type of assessment is to gain a better understanding of an individual’s emotional functioning, identify relevant diagnoses if present, and provide recommendations for treatment, if warranted.

Psychological/diagnostic Assessment

Psycho-educational Assessment

A psycho-educational assessment is a detailed assessment of an individual’s cognitive and academic strengths and weaknesses, as well as psychological factors that may interfere with learning.

 

Who could benefit?

  • University/college students and adults who are struggling with aspects of learning.

 

Areas explored include verbal and non-verbal reasoning, memory, processing, attention/concentration, and academic skills (e.g., math, reading, and writing).

 

The goal is to identify the basis of learning challenges and provide recommendations for learning accommodations, as required.

Psycho-vocational/Vocational Assessment

A psycho-vocational assessment also assesses an individual’s cognitive and academic  strengths and weaknesses, and psychological factors that may interfere with learning. Additionally, it examines an individual’s career interests.

 

Who could benefit?

  • Persons who are unable to re-enter their previous workplace or occupation due to restrictions imposed by an injury.

  • Adults pursuing post-secondary education who are seeking advice regarding the appropriate career path.

 

The goal is to identify vocational options/alternatives that are consistent with an individual’s aptitudes, interests, and skills.
